My only concern as an intern at Millennium Personnel Corp. was lateness. That day the trains were running a bit late and I thought that I had somewhat ruined my chances as being an intern there because of tardiness. To most people, first impressions are major; so for me to show up late was unacceptable, especially on the first day. But thankfully, I arrived there five minutes early; so far so good.
The tasks or duties that I was required to do were mainly receptionist work. I’ve had previous clerical work, so it wasn’t that difficult to me; other than knowing exactly what to say when speaking on the telephone and knowing where certain things went. But other than that, given time and practice, I will be accustomed to it. Therefore, I look forward to a gaining valuable administrative experience in working with Millennium Personnel Corp. in hopes for a potential job.

The economy is horrible. Therefore, the answer is NO. There are many people with BA degrees and MBA degrees that are not working. It is not all about you; it is also about the economy. It could be a smart decision because any job will provide you with experience. Instead of pursuing jobs in a specific field, expand your search into several different fields. If this doesn’t work, try to be more aggressive. That means follow up calls to make sure that they receive your resume. However, be polite when you call because nobody wants to hire a bad-mannered individual.
There are many reasons why someone might lower his/her expectations when seeking for a job. If you are a recent college graduate, your biggest focus should be looking for a job for the sake of building up reference and gain as much experience as you can. Use your networks such as professors, friends’ parents about . If you just move to a different area and have some family obligations, given a position that is lower than job opportunities your qualifications can be great. It will help you pay the bills. Therefore, take it for now and put a smile on your face. Things will slowly get better.

Ever look at some resumes on the Internet and think to yourself, what in the world is going on? This is a very common thought for the recent college graduate or anyone who is newly entering the job market. More often than not our reaction is that aside from the work we did while we were in school, we do not really have much credentials to note. Then what are we suppose to list on our Entry-Level Resume?
What I have learned from my internship is that for a person who is seeking an entry-level position is that our resumes are offering to our employer promises; promises of the transferable skills that we were able to obtain throughout our lives. Even those experiences we might think as menial, such as when we were flipping burgers in our neighborhood’s diner, would give some credibility.
A major problem that may arise is that many of us who are newly entering the working world is just as the statement reads. We are new, and sometimes with no prior working experience at all. That is why many of us need internships, as it is an opportunity for us to gain this much-needed experience. What is the most beneficial about interning for an organization like Millennium Personnel is not only that we are gaining this experience, but we are also gaining a lot of knowledge that we would be able to use so that we can become a more attractive applicant to a hiring company.

As a wide-eyed recent college graduate, we come out into the world with many high expectations of the opportunities that are ahead of us. We are well aware that the job hunt is difficult. It is common knowledge that because of that because of the recent recession there aren’t many job openings available; what we did not realize that was unlike in the past, the recent graduate who is entering the working world is no longer in competition with only their own contemporaries, but also, because of the recent lay offs, we are now up against people with over 10 years more experience. Though we think that we have all these credentials and because of our previous jobs we seemingly possess a massive amount of experience and knowledge in Human Resource, Marketing, or whatever fields we wish to enter, what I realized from my first day as an intern was that though these skills gained may help us in the future, at the moment we are still too green to hire. As an intern for Millennium Personnel Corp. is to be able to garner enough experience that I would be an attractive applicant for any positions in Human Resources, Marketing, and Public Relations.

My first day as an intern at Millennium Personnel Corporation was astonishing. I was extremely nervous because I did not want to make any mistakes. I had to learn how to multi-task which double my level of stress. However I encountered the nicest interns who help me through the process and gain my confidence. On my second day, I felt more comfortable with the tasks and was able to work without supervision. One thing I learned on my first day is that making mistakes is part of the learning process. I am looking forward to gain as much experience as I can at Millennium Personnel.
